Short Film: is a film not long enough as full-length film. It can have a running time of 40 minutes or less. Short film can be professional or amateur. Professional short films are often screened locally, nationally and at international film festivals. An amateur short film are often using filmmakers for non-profit either with a low or no budget. This Short amateur film proves their talent for the future films from private investigators, entertainment companies and film studies.  Short film would use a platform for website, DVD, CD, presentations and mobile devices.  When you see short film on YouTube have some bad quality because YouTube have low compression (lossy and lossless). YouTube must be a high quality as a HD.

Film Trailers: Film Trailers is a promotional advertisement for a feature film. Film trailers are shown at cinemas, on YouTube. Film trailers are usually short. They are used to attract and persuade an audience to go see the full movie. Movies are now very popular and are available on DVD and Blue-Ray Discs as well as on the Internet, I-Pads and mobiles. At the moment over ten billion videos are watched online every year, so this will help to sell the film and future DVD sales. When you see film Trailers on YouTube have some bad quality because YouTube have low compression (lossy and lossless). YouTube must be a high quality as an HD.

E-learning: is supported learning and teaching. Abbreviations like CBT (Computer-Based Training), IBT (internet-Based Training) have been used as synonyms to E-learning. E-learning include Internet, intranet/extranet, audio or video tape, satellite TV, and CD-ROM. E-learning can be use for text, animation, streaming video, audio and DVD.

Virtual Reality Tours:  is a simulation of an existing multimedia where it can be use of video images around in the room. A virtual tour uses sound effects, music, narration and text, variety of video and photographic. Over last few years, virtual Tour was using the quality, usability and accessibility where some websites using the user to navigate the virtual tours by clicking on map.

Streaming Video: Streaming video using the Internet. There are two different ways streaming servers and HTTP streaming. HTTP streaming is a stream video from a website small to medium sized, and you can’t stream live video. Streaming Server is a specific application that runs on an Internet. When you create streaming video, there are two important things that you need to remember; file format and streaming method. There are five different file formats to pick from when you want to stream a film or video.

1)   Windows Media

2)   Real Media

3)   QuickTime

4)   MPEG

5)   Adobe Flash

6)   DivX

Downloading: When you need downloading a file for film then saved your file on computer, in the end open and view. If you need a file download high quality such as HD or 3D for film then you can wait long time because of high quality. But there are rules ways illegal and legal for downloading because when you need copying for film it can’t be copying because you have to pay for downloading, that is legal.

Progressive Downloading: is easy and cheap way to make flash video on a website.

1)   It can’t be used for live on a website

2)   It is not powerful than true streaming

3)   It is not secure because the video file is saved on the server’s computer.

4)   The user can’t finish part of the video before it has downloaded.

5)   It can’t be used automatically move to finish user’s connection speed

Progressive Downloading video there are two files you need are FLV video file and an SWF file to play the video. SWF file means taking over the whole browser window which it is always confusing and ugly for the user. FLV is a format for Flash Video File has supported from version 7. Now FLV has changed format to bring for video clips via Flash.

There are two ways different to create FLV files:

1)   Convert existing files using an encoder for Flash Format.

2)   Export FLV files using Adobe Effect After

Frame rate: As frame frequency is the frequency rate which using an imaging device to make continuing image called frames. Frame rate applies equally to film and video cameras, computer graphics, and motion capture systems. Frame rate is most usually in frames per second (FPS) and also progressive scan monitors as hertz (Hz)

Digital management systems:  is a class to access control technologies that are used hardware manufacturers, publishers, copyright holders, and individuals with the intent to limit the use of digital content and devices after sale such as Amazon, AT&T, AOL, Apple and other digital rights management.

Lossy Compression: When you have multimedia data you could be lose something on multimedia data because this should be direct to minimize the amount of data. Lossless compression needs to lose for text, data files and text articles. For example multi-megabyte can be use full-page advertisement for magazine, and 10 kilobyte can be used small images on a webpage.

Lossless Compression: The term lossless is different to Lossy Data Compression where there are many applications. Many applications are often used only zip file format and Unix tool gzip. Some image file formats are like PNG and GIF use only lossless compression, while others like TIFF and MNG may use either lossless or lossy compressions.

If the company need an equipment and material required then company should ask permission to fill out equipment loan form and material required before two week deadline when the company is ready. The company don’t need to pay both of equipment and material required because all of these are from Westminster Kingsway College, it is all free cost.
